FDA Recommends New Labelling for Antibiotic's Side Effects
The Food and Drug Administration in the US has recently published an announcement regarding Fluoroquinone antibiotics )Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox to name a few). In addition to previously known side effects, the FDA has warned in addition of low blood sugar risks and mental health side effects, including agitation, memory or attention problems and delirium. So unless it's prescribed for something severe, like pneumonia, it's best to find an alternative.
Viruses May Be Linked to Alzhiemer's
Scientists have evidence that the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) may be related to Alzheimer's. The body produces a certain protein that is meant to protect us from infection (i.e. the virus), however the presence of this protein causes plaques to form in the brain, which are hallmark of Alzheimers. Not to say that everyone that has the virus will have Alzheimers - there are other genetic/environmental factors that are likely involved.
